WANT TO HEAR MORE?
Memorial Day Weekend 2015 - A grand day to begin. The site is open and the sun is raging. Outside the birds sing, nests are stuffed with the foam from my favorite porch chair, and the squirells are watching anxiously for me to walk away from the bird feeder. The forecast said rain, but there is none, just clear blue skies. The grass is cut - I said I would never be that guy, but in the end, it's not so bad. The ticks and misquitos are thirsty, and the carpenter bees never stop fighting long enough to bring their queen food. The frogs have scurried, and will return at dusk. The salamanders sunbathe in plain sight where no one will see.
I wait patiently for the clock to finally leave my ears, and the sweet sound of the robins to fill them. I wait patiently for the call of the wild. I wait patiently for the sound of a crashing wave, but I am also aware that there is a line from my house to the beach, and I will probably not see it today. So it goes. There are lines everywhere, but here. Here in this yard, I am the only one waiting.
Check back regularly. I will try to update my thoughts frequently.
